The exhi­bi­tion « Son­ic Noir : The Son­ic Oth­er » presents artis­tic works focus­ing on the icon­ic visu­al char­ac­ter­is­tics of film genre noir such as light/dark con­trasts, shad­ows, cam­era-angles, lead­ing to dis­ori­en­ta­tion in the space etc., though trans­mit­ting them by means of sound. In order to find the answer, how noir sounds, artists can’t avoid using of con­crete noir sym­bols and visu­al tools as well, but the atmos­phere of sus­pense, threat, ambiva­lence, typ­i­cal for noir genre, is metaphor­i­cal­ly pro­duced.
